Huxley Building

The EGSR 2024 and MAM-MANER 2024 conferences will be hosted at the Huxley Building (180 Queen’s Gate, South Kensington) within the campus of Imperial College London. EGSR will be held in the Clore Lecture theatre right next to the Huxley building reception on level 2 when entering from 180 Queen’s Gate. MAM-MANER will be held in Huxley Rm 342 on level 3, which just requires taking the stairs up from Huxley building reception. Note that the Huxley building also has an entrance via the Sherfield walkway which connects Huxley building on the west end of the campus with the main entrance of Imperial College on the east end of the campus which is close to the Prince’s Gardens summer accommodations.

Getting to Imperial College London

Imperial College London is conveniently accessible by various modes of transportation:

  • By Plane: You can fly into any of London’s major airports, such as Heathrow, Gatwick, or London City Airport. From the airport, you can take direct transportation to Imperial College.

  • By Bus/Underground: London has an extensive bus network. You can easily reach Imperial College using the city’s efficient bus and tube services. The campus is well-connected with multiple bus routes, and it’s conveniently situated near two Underground stations: South Kensington and Gloucester Road. These stations are serviced by the Piccadilly line, which offers a direct connection to Heathrow Airport.

  • By Train: The college is well-connected to London’s railway system. The nearest train stations are Paddington (connection to Heathrow), Victoria (connection to Gatwick), and King’s Cross/St. Pancras International (Eurostar and connection to Luton).

Accommodation

Prince's Garden

All EGSR guests staying in the Prince’s Gardens summer accommodations should head to check-in area located in the Southside building, Falmouth entrance. This is very close to the Eastside building where all EGSR guests are staying. Reception is open 24/7 therefore the guests can do it anytime at Prince’s Garden Reception in Southside building.

There will be no early check-in for any guests arriving on July 2nd before the check-in time of 2pm. However, guests can feel free to leave their luggage at reception before going to the MAM-MANER conference which starts at 1pm.

Accommodation Options

For your convenience, we recommend the following accommodation options:

  • Summer Accommodation:
    We have reserved a limited number of discounted single and double rooms (July 2nd - 5th/6th) at Imperial College’s Prince’s Gardens summer accommodation.

  • Hotels: There are several hotels located near Imperial College London in the surrounding South Kensington and Gloucester Road areas. These hotels offer comfortable stays and are within easy reach of the conference venue. Slightly cheaper options are available a bit further away in Earl’s Court and High Street Kensington areas.
